The 1734-RTBS, manufactured by Rockwell Automation through its line of Factory Automation, Allen Bradley, is a removable terminal block with a spring clamp. It comes as a replacement for the Point I/O terminal block, 1734-RTB. The terminal blocks accessory weighs 8 grams and is DIN mounted with open style enclosure. Allen Bradley’s Point I/O is set out to provide flexible and affordable add-ons for successful control systems through its design and operation. The 1734-RTBS is powered by a signal terminal current maximum of 2 Amperes. The RTB connects to all field-side wiring to system input and can be used with remote device panels and load control panels. The access to its hardwiring or for program loading is done both locally and through remote connection through the network I/O modules.

The 1734-RTBS is considered as a Group 1, Class A industrial equipment and should be installed within an enclosure of NEMA rating suitable for the type of device used in with the consideration of the operational environment. The terminal block has an efficient operating temperature of between -20 degrees Celsius and 50 degrees Celsius. The POINT I/O mounting base mounts directly on the DIN-rail, either vertically or horizontally, and forms the connection for the POINTBus backplane communication and field power-bus distribution. The manual keying of the mounting base prevents incorrect module placement. It should be noted that the RTB separates independently of the I/O mounting base and I/O module to facilitate rapid installation and commissioning of the system. Each terminal is on the bottom of the RTB to simplify troubleshooting during commissioning or maintenance cycles. The 1734-RTBS has a mounting base with an 8-terminal spring clamp.
